Automating Sage 200 uploads from Excel

Did you know you can take any spreadsheet and automatically turn it into an Excelerator template, ready to be uploaded into Sage?

Let’s use this to:

  • save EPOS sales data,
  • integrate your payroll system with Sage 200,
  • and quickly and easily maintain stock items.

But before you do this, save a template you wish to reuse.

You can now use this range definition in brand-new Excel files. For example:

Saving EPOS sales data

Export a spreadsheet from a third-party system such as your CRM, P2P, Property Management, or EPOS system.

To save EPOS data into Sage 200, open the spreadsheet in Excel and fill in any remaining data.

Then in the Excelerator ribbon, click the Designer button, the gear icon, and Load Range Definitions.

Now choose the definition file and then click Open.

And just like that, the definition is applied to the spreadsheet. Now, simply click Save to Sage.

Integrating your payroll system with Sage 200

You can also integrate payroll system data with Sage 200. Export the data from the payroll system in an Excel spreadsheet.

Now apply the Excelerator Nominal Journal Entry template.

Then fill in any missing data and save it to Sage.

Quickly and easily maintain stock items

We can simplify stock item management with a custom spreadsheet template. Let’s create one and use it to add some stock items to Sage 200. Click the Designer button.

You can see that in the designer, all standard Sage stock fields are available.

Enter the number of rows needed and then start adding the required fields. We will add Code, Name, Description, Product Group Code, Stock Unit, Use Item Description on Order and Invoices, Active, Average Buying Price or, Account Reference, Stock Code, Lead Time, Usual Order Quantity, and Supplier List Price.

Once the template is ready, simply add your new stock items and click Save to Sage.

Now if check back in Sage 200, we can see the stock items we have added.

You can now save this template’s range definition and apply it to any Excel spreadsheets you get from your colleagues, even if they don't have Excelerator.
